Support for Families
There are times when, for any number of reasons, families experience difficulties and need some support or advice. Our Home Liaison Officer, Debbie Newman, is available to help.
Friendly, approachable and practical, Debbie has many years' experience supporting families with all kinds of questions and problems, big and small. Debbie says:
"Whilst I am not an expert and don’t claim to have all the answers, I can help you find the right advice, help or support by:
- Offering guidance about behaviour, attendance and punctuality, routines and organisation, all of which can affect how your child gets on at school
- Helping with concerns about starting school or moving to another school
- Helping with filling in forms
- Providing, or helping you find, support and information about other difficulties you may be having such as money worries, relationships, health
- Acting as a link between families and school
- Providing information about what’s on offer through school and in the wider community; activities and opportunities for children, parents and families, local services and community groups, parenting advice/courses/groups.
As the saying goes, 'two heads are better than one.' Any problem, large or small, bring it along and between us we will try to find a solution. Be assured that I will treat anything you say in confidence and with respect."
You can find Debbie on the playground before school on Mondays and Thursdays, and she is also in school on Wednesday afternoons. Alternatively, contact the school office and we can put you in touch with Debbie.
